Rogers Gets Route 1 Rotary Cleaned Up

Boston:  Rep. John H. Rogers (D-Norwood) heard the concerns of Norwood residents regarding the unkempt condition of the Route 1 Rotary.  Rogers brought their concerns directly to Secretary of Transportation Richard A. Davey’s office. Secretary Davey upon hearing of the litter and overgrowth, responded immediately.

An inmate work crew addressed the litter this week, resulting in 25 bags of trash collected along Route 1 one quarter of a mile North and South of the rotary at low cost to the taxpayer.  The area has been weed-wacked and the grass has been mowed.

While this work made a huge improvement, further mowing and overgrowth removal is scheduled to take place shortly on the upper level of the rotary itself.  The roadway will be swept in the next phase of the cleanup project.

Rep. Rogers said, “I am grateful to Secretary Davey for his rapid response in cleaning up a part of my district and accomplishing this at low cost to the taxpayers.”

more election year pandering - why can't the DOT just do their job without pander-poking from a disparate man?
