Mike, this isn't a common occurrence, simply a sad one. I'm really surprised something like that happened in the center so early in the evening!

What's going on? More robberies, drug deals, vandalism. I have lived in Norwood for more than 20 years and it seems to me that crime is way up in Norwood. I'm sure it's more reporting by the Norwood Patch, but has there been any changes at the NPD? Is the NPD understaffed? Just wondering.

I have to say, prior to Chief Brooks, I'd agree with Mr. Ferrini, however, the NPD has been doing a fine job in my book cleaning up Norwood.

Norwood's crime index is not too bad but one thing did stick out... the number stay pretty consistent. Burglaries and rapes did jump a bit. Missing is 2011 data...

All in all, I'd say Norwood is a pretty safe place to live. No matter where you live, there is crime. The times definitely do not help, but that is no excuse.

Net, net... it is up to the people of this town to keep it safe and call when you see something suspicious.
