COLLEGE SPORTS: Norwood's Dixon Battles for Trinity Starting Spot

Former Norwood High standout Emily Dixon is battling for the starting spot at center for the Trinity College women's basketball team.
As a freshman, Dixon started nine games, appearing in 23 overall, averaging 5.5 points per game. Trinity will open up the season against Springfield College at the Brandeis Invitational, Saturday, Nov. 17.
A year ago, Trinity was 10-14 overall.
After missing last season with an injury, Norwood's Joe Sharkey, who played at Northfield Mt. Hernon, is back as a sophomore guard at Brown University. A 6-2, 190-pounder sophomore and his teammates will open up the season at Binghamton University Saturday at 2 p.m.
Former Norwood High football player Shaquille Joseph is a freshman defensive lineman on the Curry College football team. The Colonels finished the regular season with a 6-4 record.
