1. Today is Patriots' Day which commemorates the battle of Lexington and Concord and also signifies the running of the Boston Marathon.

2. All public schools in the Norwood School District will be closed today in observance of Patriots' Day.

3. In observance of Patriots' Day the following places in the town of Norwood will also be closed today:

  • Norwood Town Hall
  • Library
  • Senior Center
  • Recreation Center

4. Todays' NHS Mustang varsity action: the NHS boys' lacrosse team will travel to Foxborough for a 11:00 a.m. game.

5. The Cleveland School has announced that applications for four $500 scholarships for former Cleveland students are now being accepted. The awards will be given to outstanding young men and women who are graduating from high school in June 2012. The completed application, including a cover letter, a letter of recommendation, and the most recent high school transcript must be received by the F.A. Cleveland School no later than May 4. F.A. Cleveland Scholarship applications are available from the Guidance Department at Norwood High School and from the Principal’s office at the Cleveland School.
