School Committee's Public Hearing for the FY13 budget

Jim Hayden, Superintendent of Schools in Norwood, has invited all Norwood citizens to attend our School Committee's public hearing for the FY13 budget tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Norwood High School in the auditorium. During this posted meeting, fiscal plans for the next school year will be reviewed and the needs of the school system will be discussed. The results of this meeting will be presented to Town Meeting in May. All are encouraged to attend this budget hearing and comments, support, and suggestions are encouraged.

Coakley Middle School to host Jimmy Fund Movie Mania

Ms. Siegel is hosting the CMS' first Jimmy Fund Movie Mania taking place on Friday, April 27th from 2:05-5:00 p.m. She is selling tickets to students. Ten people are needed to volunteer from 1:30-3:00 p.m. to help set up the cafeteria, pass out refreshments to the students, and then clean-up before the movie starts. Please email Jen Jenks at jenjenks@verizon.net if you can help out in any way.

Coakley Middle School Teacher Appreciation Lunch

Teacher's Appreciation Luncheon for Coakley Middle School teachers will be held on Friday, May 11 in the CMS cafeteria. Volunteers are needed to donate a lunch entree, dessert item, water/soda, ice and coolers, and also to help with set up and clean up. Please contact Jen Jenks directly at jenjenks@verizon.net if you are available to help in any way. This luncheon was a huge hit with the teachers and staff last year, particularly because of all the delicious food served by the parents.

Coakley Middle School PTO Needs New Board Members

The Coakley PTO is in search of parents who are willing to step up and help out with the PTO board next year. They are very sadly losing Co-President Sarah Sullivan and Secretary Betsy Cutler, and need volunteers to fill those rolls. They are also looking for someone to help Donna Driscoll with the Treasurer duties. It would be terrific for the parent of an upcoming 6th or 7th grader to transition into a roll on the PTO Board, so if you know of anyone currently at the CMS or at the 5th grade level who would be willing to take on a position, please contact Chris at larson74@earthlink.net or Sarah at spsullivan@verizon.net.
