Needham Man Arrested for Drunk Driving, Resisting Arrest

According to Norwood Police logs a 19-year-old Needham man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when his vehicle nearly struck a police car on Route 1.

 

Norwood Police arrested a 19-year-old Needham man for allegedly driving drunk after he nearly struck a police vehicle on Route 1 northbound early Wednesday morning.

According to Norwood Police logs, Matthew Roger Anderson, of 230 Hillside Ave., Needham, sped by two officers who had responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 1 around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, nearly striking one of them. Officers located and stopped Anderson's vehicle traveling on the northbound side of Route 1 near Jack Madden Ford.

Anderson will be charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, as well as several traffic infractions.
