This weekend the Norwood High School Drama Club will present the first ever Haunted Norwood Tour, beginning on the Town Common.
The tours will be held Saturday and Sunday evenings, as well as the evening of next Saturday, Nov. 10, and are serving as a fundraiser for the club's trip to perform at the 2013 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The drama students will be acting as costumed storytelling tour guides and story characters at several of the tour stops to showcase the skills for which they were given an invitation to the festival. Stops along the route include town landmarks and historical homes at which the tour guides will present information comprised of a mixture of historical facts and fictional stories based on local legends.
The tours will leave from the Town Common every 30 minutes starting promptly at 6 p.m. and continuing until 8:30 p.m. Each tour is expected to last approximately 75 to 90 minutes. Price is $15 for adults and $10 for children under 13. Patrons may register at the Town Common on the day of the tours or to reserve a spot, call Darlene Turchetta at 781-440-0640.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a flashlight and wear comfortable shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing.
