Grade 9 Parent-Athlete Information Night

All freshman athletes and their parents are required to attend the parent/athlete Health Awareness night on Tuesday, August 28, at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The purpose of the meeting will be to introduce the athletic staff explain the rules of the Norwood High School Athletic Department and the rules of the governing body of high school athletics - the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). The meeting will be followed by Dr. Dan Switchenko a motivational speaker, talking about leadership and ingredients for success.

Dr. Dan Switchenko, former head basketball coach and Hall of Famer at Eastern Connecticut State University, will be the guest speaker at our annual health awareness night. The event will be held in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, August 28 at 7 p.m. This will be a mandatory meeting for all athletes and a parent or guardian. He will speak on a wide range of topics including leadership, keys to success, exercise science and substance abuse. The motivational presentation focuses on the characteristics that successful individuals possess. He will discuss goal setting, proper study techniques, academic achievement, co-curricular activities, and the role they play in becoming successful.
