Norwood Election Results: School Committee and Library Board of Trustees
All districts have reported in and the seats have been filled for 2012.
The votes have been counted, and the contested races for Norwood's School Committee and Library Board of Trustees have been decided.
The two available seats on the School Committee will be filled by current member and chairperson Paul Samargedlis, and current member James Gormley.
Samargedlis received the most votes in town with 1,420, and Gormley close behind with 1,335 votes.
Sarah Begg (1,119) and Patricia Reardon (970) will fill the two available seats on the Library Board of Trustees.
Only 14.12 percent of Norwood voters turned out to vote in Monday's election.

Congrats to everyone who ran! It shows a vested interest in this town!
I did not run for School Committee but I did take the time and effort to get signatures and run for Town Meeting Member to learn the ropes and get my name out there. I am not a "townie" and have only live in Norwood for 3 years but here to stay! I am making an effort because I want to make a difference!
The issue 14%! Yeah... that is right ONLY 14% of people got out yesterday and voted! That is ~4,000 (rounded down because that is how pathetic the result was) people out of the 28,602 people that live here! THAT is the problem.
I would also love to see an exit poll done to see the age groups that voted. That would say a lot about this town and who really cares.
End of day... the people of Norwood need to get more involved especially the younger people. I am 34 years old, get all the town newspapers and read Norwood Patch. It is not hard to stay up on the town and care about his town! I have an 18 month old and plan to stay here until I retire!
End of day... everyone complains about this town, yet the town meeting seats were NOT all filled! Stop complaining, vote and get involved with this town!

How does one find out who won the election for town meeting? I vote in District 6, and there were more seats open than there were people running. All I can find out is that there were 62 write-ins. I'd like to see a complete list of winners.
