Norwood Opens Cooling Centers to Residents

Four Norwood locations will be open to residents for heat relief until 8 p.m.

 

The Town of Norwood has opened cooling centers at the request of the state. All facilities are for Norwood residents only. No pets allowed.

The following four locations are equipped to provide relief until 8 p.m.:

The Norwood Senior Center - 275 Prospect Street

Norwood Civic Center - 165 Nahatan Street

Norwood Outdoor Swimming Pools - Hawes Pool (Washington Street at Short St.) and Fr. MacAleer's Playground (Vernon Street & Hawthorn St.)

A National Weather Service heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for the Norwood area. For tips on how to stay safe in the heat, click here.
