Norwood Police Log: Breaking and Entering, Assault Arrest

Friday, Jan. 4
10:00 a.m. - Top floor resident on Monroe Street reported his wife informed him of a black female who knocked on the door on the first floor. She walked around back and did the same. She had a blue hooded top, jeans and boots. Both residents are at work and will check with the first floor resident tonight to see if they were expecting anyone. Anti-crime and cars notified for extra checks.
5:00 p.m. - Caller reported found bag of Marijuana on William Shyne Circle. Police filed a report.
9:44 p.m. - Caller on Norwest Drive reported someone broke into her apartment. Officers responded, filed a report.
Saturday, Jan. 5
11:10 a.m. - Caller on Lane Drive reported breaking and entering to home. Police filed a report.
11:59 a.m. - Caller on Dean Street reported breaking and entering since the day before. Police filed a report.
9:59 p.m. - Caller reported disturbance at apartment on Rock Street with drunk male. Officers responded. NFD requested for face laceration. Male party placed in protective custody and transported to hospital.
Sunday, Jan. 6
11:25 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported hit and run to car parked at Guarino's on Washington Street. Police filed a report.
11:28 a.m. - Caller on Elkway Street reported neighbor banging on door asking for help, unknown problem. NFD sent. Officer reported domestic and as a result placed John J. Speidel, Jr., of Norwood, under arrest for assault and battery.
Monday, Jan. 7
9:44 a.m. - Employee at Rite Aid on Walpole Street reported possible drug use in the bathroom. Subject did purchase needles and was upset about showing his ID. Second subject with him waiting near the bathroom. As a result one placed under arrest on warrants.
3:03 p.m. - Officer returned with and disposed of four syringes found on Pleasant Street.
