Norwood Police Log: Heroin Arrests, Fox Found in School Playground

Friday, September 28
2:36 p.m. - Police arrested Ricky Chirinos, of Dorchester, for distribution of Heroin on Washington St. Chirinos was also arrested on one outstanding warrant.
8:46 p.m. - Caller at Norwood Hospital reported she was assaulted by another patient. Police filed a report.
8:59 p.m. - Caller reported a disturbance on Davis Ave. As a result, police arrested Jack Jraitiny, of Norwood, for assault and battery and vandalism of property.
Saturday, September 29
12:12 p.m. - Caller reported four males sitting in the train station shed at Buckminster Dr., possibly doing drugs. Responding officers reported parties gone on arrival.
2:48 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Washington and Hoyle streets. One vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report.
8:55 p.m. - An officer was flagged down at McDonald's on Broadway by a party reporting a stolen bicycle. Police issued a BOLO to cars and checked various areas.
11:14 p.m. - Caller on Wilson St. reported kids outside drinking and smoking, states they do not appear to be of age. Responding officers issued complaints/summons for two Norwood males for minor transporting/carrying alcoholic beverages.
Sunday, September 30
10:25 a.m. - Caller at Pleasant St. and Boston-Providence Highway reported six or more syringes in the road. Officers properly disposed of the same.
11:14 p.m. - Caller reported female running down Lyman Pl. toward Nahatan St. As a result, police placed one into protective custody.
Monday, October 1
2:37 a.m. - Caller reported loud yelling on Tremont St. Responding officers reported a verbal altercation, one party transported to Dedham. Police filed a report.
Tuesday, October 2
7:59 a.m. - Caller reported fox walked out of the Cleveland School yard and into her yard, then took off toward Nichols St. Police left a message for Animal Control.
10:35 a.m. - Caller reported fox in the playground area of the Cleveland School. Norwood Animal Control notified and handled the call.
1:23 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported plow missing from property on Pleasant St. Police filed a report.
2:52 p.m. - Officer reported gas main on Lenox St. hit during construction. Norwood Fire and Police responded, some homes evacuated. National Grid responded to repair line.
7:24 p.m. - Multiple callers reported a motor vehicle accident at Walpole and Endicott streets. One vehicle towed from the scene, one party transported to the hospital.
