Norwood Police Log: Nov. 23-24
Highlights from the daily police logs.
Wednesday, Nov. 23
10:42 a.m. - Caller reported hit and run to a motor vehicle at Shaw's on Nahatan St. Police filed a report.
12:46 p.m. - Loss prevention at Building 19 3/4 called to report a female shoplifter detained. Store to send letter of disinvite and police filed a report.
2:48 p.m. - Resident on Mylod St. called to report vandalism, stated lawn was damaged by someone turning around in the driveway. The damage had been repaired, no further action necessary.
4:41 p.m. - Caller reported a car into a wall motor vehicle accident on Walpole St. Norwood Fire responded, two cars were towed from the scene. Norwood DPW responded to remove a damaged hydrant. Police filed a report.
4:59 p.m. - Loss prevention at Building 19 3/4 reported two shoplifters detained. As a result, police arrested Vasikika Beraj of West Roxbury and Shpresa Rrapi of Roslindale for shoplifting $100+ by concealing merchandise. Rrapi was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
5:44 p.m. - Caller reported taxi fare evasion on Davis Ave. Police filed a report.
7:50 p.m. - Police stopped a motor vehicle at Pleasant Pl. and Dean St. for speeding, and as a result arrested Declan P. Greene of Norwood for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense.
10:24 p.m. - Caller at CVS on Nahatan St. reported juveniles throwing things at his car. Officers checked the area, filed a report.
11:20 p.m. - Multiple calls reported a vehicle on Pleasant St. hit a fence pole and then left the area. Police located the vehicle abandoned at the Norwood Central MBTA station. Owner reported the car missing from Lewis' restaurant earlier in the evening. Police filed a report.
Thursday, Nov. 24
1:14 p.m. - Caller on Winslow Ave. reported fire across from her in the woods. Norwood Fire was notified.
5:42 p.m. - Caller on Boston-Providence Highway reported a gray Ford Taurus operating erratically. Officer checked the area, reported nothing found.
