Norwood Police Log: Opossum in the Hospital, Larcenies

Thursday, July 12
6:13 a.m. - Caller at Norwood Hospital reported a large opossum in one of the offices. Officers and Norwood Animal Control responded. Animal Control removed the opossum from the site.
10:52 a.m. - Walk-in to the department reported larceny from her pods in April after UHAUL moved her into her new home. Police filed a report.

11:52 a.m. - Caller reported brush fire in the area behind Infinity of Norwood. Norwood Fire handled the call.
2:30 p.m. - Caller reported male passed out in the grass between two homes on Lenox St. Officers placed the party into protective custody.

10:58 p.m. - Caller reported a past hit and run at Shaw's on Nahatan St. Police filed a report.
Friday, July 13
5:39 a.m. - Caller at McDonald's on Boston-Providence Highway reported her vehicle was broken into. Police filed a report.
11:50 a.m. - Police received multiple calls for a motor vehicle accident at Petco on Boston-Providence Highway. Two vehicles towed from the scene. Police filed a report.
7:47 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported vehicle damaged by a BB gun on E. Cross St. Police filed a report.
Saturday, July 14
12:55 a.m. - Caller on Washington St. reported she went to visit someone in her building, closed but didn't lock her door and returned to find camera and phone missing. Police filed a report.
12:47 p.m. - Caller reported syringe on the sidewalk by his front lawn on Dean St. Officers responded, removed same.
6:19 p.m. - Caller reported parked, unoccupied car in the lot at Village Rd. E in the last two hours. Police filed a report.
6:31 p.m. - Caller reported motor vehicle accident at Boston-Providence Highway and Dean St. One vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report.
Sunday, July 15
5:11 p.m. - Caller at Building 19 3/4 reported shoplifting. As a result, police arrested Yanju Zhao, of Wolfeboro, NH, for shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise.
11:15 p.m. - As the result of a motor vehicle stop on Washington St. police arrested a Norwood man for a subsequent offense of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
