Norwood Police Log: Sobriety Checkpoint, Possession of Burglarious Instrument

Friday, June 15

7:28 p.m. - Management at Work Out World reported a hit and run to a customer's vehicle. Police filed a report.

11:31 a.m. - Caller reported multi-vehicle accident at Universal Technical Institute on Upland Rd. One vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report.

2:19 p.m. - Caller reported slight smell of gas on Tremont St. Pilot light out, Norwood Fire handled.

4:36 p.m. - Caller reported disturbance in the parking lot of Norwood Hospital. One male placed into protective custody and released to the hospital.

5:47 p.m. - Walk-in to the department reported vandalism to a motor vehicle on Nichols St. Police filed a report.

6:16 p.m. - Caller reported a stove fire on Richland Rd. Norwood Police and Fire responded.

Saturday, June 16

12:11 a.m. - As the result of a motor vehicle stop on Boston-Providence Highway, police arrested Andrew Origlio, of Newton, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and possession of Marijuana, under an ounce.

12:47 a.m. - As the result of a motor vehicle stop on Boston-Providence Highway, police arrested Daniel F. Burns, of Foxborough, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

2:07 a.m. - Caller on Morse St. reported two males dressed in black in a white Nissan in a parking lot. Responding officers arrested Darius Morris and Chad Marquis Talbert, both of Mattapan, for possession of a burglarious instrument, trespassing and attempt to commit a crime.

2:34 a.m. - As the result of a motor vehicle stop on Boston-Providence Highway, police arrested Thomas A. Damon, Jr., of Norwood, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

1:51 p.m. - Caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Hill and Washington streets. One vehicle towed from the scene. Police filed a report.

3:16 p.m. - Caller reported doors to motor vehicle left open and items taken on Dorset St. Police filed a report.

6:17 p.m. - Caller at Walgreen's reported parked, unoccupied car struck sometime during the day. Police filed a report.

Sunday, June 17

1:40 p.m. - Caller at Stop & Shop on Boston-Providence Highway reported shoplifter took a carriage full of items. Police issued a BOLO to all cars. Incident under investigation.

8:56 p.m. - Caller at Norwood Hospital reported threatening text messages. Police filed a report.
