Two Suspects Arrested for Shoplifting $500 Worth of Shrimp from Shaws
The two suspects were arraigned at Dedham District Court on Monday.
On Sunday, Mar. 3 at around 2:50 p.m. Norwood Police were contacted by a witness saying that two subjects were running out of Shaws's Market on Nahatan Street. Each of the suspects were carrying grocery baskets filled with merchandise.
"The witness told the Police Dispatcher the suspect’s last location was Neponset Street towards Canton," Norwood Police said in a statement. "Officers checked the area and could not locate any suspects or their vehicle."
The Loss Prevention Officer of Shaws told police that the store's surveillance camera shows the suspects entering the store. Five minutes later, the camera footage showed the suspects running out of the store. It was later learned that $500 worth of shrimp was stolen.
Norwood Police issued a "be on the lookout" broadcast over the Boston Area Emergency Radio Network.
Massachusetts State Police later located the suspects and arrested Brockton residents, 31-year-old Paul J. Howard and 32-year-old Russell E. Williams.
Both suspects were arraigned at Dedham District Court on Monday, and are expected to return to court on Apr. 4, 2013.
