Norwood Police arrested two juveniles last week for shooting several local houses with a BB gun.
According to a statement from the NPD, on Thursday, Jan. 3, officers were dispatched to the area of Alandale Parkway near the railroad tracks for a report of teens shooting a BB gun at a house.
"In the weeks prior to this incident, there were several similar shootings involving vehicle windows and houses being shot at in the area of the railroad tracks between Alandale Parkway and Endicott Street," the statement read. "Responding officers immediately located three youths walking the tracks. They fled when confronted by police. Norwood Police officers, with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police K-9 Unit, conducted an area search for the youths. They were led the area of Lane Drive."
Police identified three male juveniles as suspects - two age 15, one age 14, all from Norwood.
"The juveniles were interviewed with the permission of their parents and they confessed to doing the shooting earlier in the evening on Alandale Parkway. The boys led police officers to a wooded area at the rear of Endicott Street. There, officers recovered the two BB guns and a quantity of BB pellets used by the boys. The matter of the three previous BB gun shootings remains under investigation," police said.
The two 15-year-old juveniles were charged criminally with vandalizing property, walking on the railroad tracks and minors in possession of a BB gun/air rifle. The 14-year-old juvenile had no direct involvement with the shooting and was charged only with walking on the railroad tracks.
All three are scheduled to appear in the Dedham Juvenile Court.
