U.S. Marines Thank Norwood Police and Donors
Norwood Police and donors collect 5,000 toys for U.S. Marines "Toys For Tots."
The following is a release from the Norwood Police Facebook page:
You know you've done well when you've impressed the United States Marines. Chief William Brooks received a letter of thanks from Master Gunnery Sergeant James Hughes of the United States Marine Corps Reserve representing the Toys for Tots Program. In the letter he cited the outstanding work of the Norwood Police Department during the 2012 campaign.
Over 5,000 toys were collected here at the Norwood Police Station. Specifically mentioned were Officers Paul Murphy and Tom Annino, Dispatcher Jim Maroney, and Custodians Mark Walsh and Art Doolan for their eagerness to assist on every occasion.
The overwhelming generosity of the people that live or work in Norwood presented a challenge. These employees and others made for a smooth operation this year. The Marines especially like the Norwood Police drop operation because we're accessible to you 24/7. Congratulaions to all!
