Here's a look at what's happening around the area this weekend.
1. Walk-In Appraisal Day with Antique Expert, Paul Royka
Where/When: Medfield Historical Society, 6 Pleasant St., Medfield; Saturday June 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Paul Royka, a nationally-known appraiser who has appeared on PBS’s Antiques Road Show, will conduct a walk-in Appraisal Day to offer verbal assessments on your antique treasures. Participants meet individually with Royka and receive a verbal assessment of their material.
Pricing: The event is free to historical society members and $10 for non-members. The free/$10 fee entitles participants to have up to three items appraised. Additional items may be appraised for an additional fee. Event proceeds will benefit the Medfield Historical Society.
2. Sherborn Business Association Hosts Summer Brewfest
Where/When: Sherborn Inn, 33 North Main St., Sherborn; Friday June 1, 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Sherborn Business Association will host an authentic brewfest featuring samples from many of the area’s leading microbreweries and well known larger boutique breweries. The evening will also include live music provided by the “Back Page” a popular instrumental group and German cuisine such as knockwurst, bratwurst, “pulled” sauerbraten sandwich, Bavarian chicken on a Kaiser roll, spaetzle, German potato salad and sauerkraut.
Pricing: Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance or $30 if purchased at the event. Tickets can be purchased from local merchants including Rose’s Automotive, the Sherborn Inn, Sherborn Wine & Spirits, Sherborn Market (Citgo) and Walgreens.
3. Sherborn Library 40th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair
Where/When: Sherborn Library, 4 Sanger St., Sherborn; Saturday, June 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: This fun community and family event promises unique arts and crafts from over 80 local artisans and vendors, beautiful plants for sale, fun family and children’s activities, an enormous bouncy house, book sales, delicious food, live music and raffles. Parking will be available at St. Theresa’s Church as well as at Pilgrim Church.
4. St. Catherine's of Sienna 4th Annual 5k Walk/Run Race
Where/When: 249 Washington St., Norwood; Saturday, June 2, 5:30 p.m.
Why Go: All walkers and runners are welcome to join for the 4th annual 5K walk/run road race! This event will also feature a raffle table, activities for kids, a post race party with free food for all participant and free t-shirt to 1st 100 registrations. Race day registration opens at 4 p.m. for the 5:30 race time.
Pricing: Before Day of Event: $25 per walker/run and $15 for students under 14. Day of Race: $30 adults (15 and over) and $20 for students (14 and under) Register online at www.scsroadrace.com.
5. Grace Episcopal Church Plant Sale
Where/When: Grace Episcopal Church, 150 Chapel St., Norwood; Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: The annual plant sale at Grace Episcopal Church will be held Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting) through Father's Day, June 17. Beautiful hanging plants, planters, annuals and perennials are available. Proceeds go toward the plantings and upkeep of the historic sunken garden on the church grounds.
Pricing: Free to attend
