Each week, Norwood Patch is publishing "Patch Picks" - a column that highlights editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.
This weekly feature provides lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriend nights out, kids party places, parks and more.
The grocery stores are already stocking up on apples and cider, but sometimes there's nothing more fun than picking your own! There are a lot of orchards within a quick drive of Norwood, and we want to know where you go locally to get fresh picked apples.
Write your answers in the comment box or on our Facebook and Twitter pages, and check back Thursday to see the list of the best suggestions!

We always go to Belkins "Lookout Farm" in South Natick. It's so easy and quick to get to(10 minutes from Dover center). We think the JonaGold apples that come out in October are the best apples in the world! You take a train out to the orchards, and they have a nice little area out there for little ones with a petting zoo. The downside is it's a little pricey....they charge extra for the train ride. We keep going back though for the delicious apples and the fun day.

My family goes to Russell Orchards in Ipswich every year. The apples are good, but I don't know if they're superior in any way. We like to go to Crane's beach afterward for a picnic. It's our favorite beach, and you can park there for free on a Fall afternoon. It's my favorite day in the Fall every year.
