Block Island is located in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 13 miles south of the coast of Rhode Island and is separated from the mainland by the Block Island Sound. Visitors can get there quickly and affordably by taking either the traditional ferry or the new high-speed ferry from a number of points in the area, the most popular being Point Judith or as many know it, Galilee. There is so much to do on the island, that some people decide to make a longer trip out of it and stay in one of the many historical Victorian hotels and inns that the island offers. You'll encounter beautiful beaches…

Norwood wasn't exactly what it is today more than 150 years ago.  Way back when, Town Hall didn't stand next to the Common and carriages, rather than automobiles, might have traversed any roadway. In fact, Norwood didn't exist decades ago — it occupied Dedham's south. With the many changes since then, one structure has stood the test of time — the F. Holland Day House. Built in 1859, the house has stood at 93 Day St. ever since. The structure was home to Fred Holland Day, son of Lewis and Anna Smith Day, said Heather Cole, president of the Norwood Historical Society. The house itself never …

Welcome to the Colonial House Restaurant, proudly "In the Neighborhood" at 33 Savin Ave., Norwood. And "In the Neighborhood" is no exaggeration. The Colonial House is tucked away on a residential street in a part of town once known as "Swedesville." The neighborhood, nestled into the hills heading south down toward the "flats," is cozy and close knit; the Colonial House fits in perfectly. When you walk into the restaurant, you will be greeted by pictures of locals and large wall displays celebrating the town's hockey and football teams. The bar is small, but well-stocked. Owners Rick McGowan …
