The Exit 16B off-ramp along the Dedham-Westwood line on I-95 northbound for Route 109 westbound will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 5, between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for paving. MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling along the detour routes.

The Norwood Police Department is collecting Toys for Tots. Brand new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the state.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill to Meet
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill--South Norfolk affiliate will
hold its monthly meeting at the Neponset River House located at 595 Pleasant St., Norwood, Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. There will be hearing a report by Peter Angelos, the site director for the department of mental health, on the current status of services for its clients in this area. Mental illness is a label for a variety of diseases of the brain. Often it strikes in late adolescence, devastating the afflicted person and the family. The Alliance is composed of such families who find mutual support and join together to advocate for their loved ones.
