Norwood Hospital to Host Orthopedic Talk

Learn more about the less-invasive treatment option to relieve knee or hip pain called MAKOplasty® on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Norwood Hospital, 800 Washington Street, Norwood. Orthopedic specialists from Norwood Hospital will explain how MAKOplasty® -- an innovative robotic-arm assisted technology -- can effectively and more precisely treat early- to mid-stage osteoarthritis of the knee or hip. There will also be a Q and A session with the doctors and you can “Meet our Robot,” as well as hear from a patient who underwent this treatment option to relieve joint pain. -The Norwood High football team will be hosting North Quincy Saturday at 1 p.m. After beating Bishop Feehan last week, the Mustangs will be going for their second straight win.

-Norwood's Joe Sharkey is a junior guard for the Brown University men's basketball team. The 6-2, 180-pounder started three games last year and appeared in 27 for the Bears last year.

-The next meeting of the Norwood selectmen will be Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.
