What's on Tap for Norwood Mustangs?

The Norwood High boys' hockey team will be at Milton Saturday, Jan. 4, at 6 p.m. The JV game between the two schools will follow at 8 p.m. The girls' hockey team will be facing Milton in Canton at 8 p.m. Sunday, the indoor track teams will be competing in the Freshmen/Sophomore Meet at the Reggie Lewis Center. The Norwood High girls' basketball team is going to be host Mllton, starting with the freshmen game at 1 p.m., followed by the junior varsity game at 2:30 p.m. and the varsity game at 4 p.m. The boys' varsity basketball team will be at Milton at 6:45 p.m. There will be only be the varsity game.

Norwood Retired Men's Club to Meet Jan. 14
The first meeting in the 28th year for the Norwood Retired Men’s Club will be Tuesday, Jan. 14, 10 a.m. in the Norwood Elks. President Tom Tobin will again lead for the 2014 year. They will be selling tickets for their 11th annual Valentine dinner. It will be held at the Apollo this year and will be open to the general public as well. The price will be $30 per person. You will have a choice of scrod or prime rib. It will be at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Tables of 10 can be reserved in advance. There will be a limited number, so make your plans early. You don’t have to be  Norwood resident to join the NRMC but you must be at least 60 and retired or semi retired. Plenty of parking. Just walk in and someone will greet you.

Planet Fitness to Host Grand Opening
Patrick House, the Season 10 winner of The Biggest Loser will be visiting the new Planet Fitness in Norwood to celebrate the club's grand opening, Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be at 5:30 p.m. The facility is located at 418 Walpole St., Rte. 1A in Norwood. KISS 108 will be broadcasting live from the event and Jasper White's Summer Shack will be catering the event.

Norwood Public Access Offers Youth Video Club
Norwood Public Access Television Inc. is offering its Middle School Afterschool Workshop, Youth Video Club There will be three classes offered according to your child’s grade at the NPA-TV Studios located in Norwood High School. Children will learn the basics of video production and at the end of the session they will produce a live program showcasing their work. Class size is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will open on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m, and close when classes have been filled. No advance registrations will be accepted.  Monday classes will run from Jan. 27 – March 31 (No class on Presidents Day) and Tuesday classes will run Jan. 28 – April 1. What to Wear Today
There will be early snow and wind with the snow slowing down at 10 a.m., according to WHDH. After that, it will be bitterly cold with highs in the single digits and low 10s. Saturday will start out at zero in many spots before getting up to the mid/upper 20s, but it will be sunny.
