Norwood Local Haley Olmstead in Walnut Hill’s Spring Awakening

Natick, MA – Haley Olmstead of Norwood, MA will take the stage as part of the ensemble of Walnut Hill School for the Arts’ spring production of Spring Awakening the Musical.

Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of German playwright Frank Wedekind’s 19th century expressionist play of the same name. Set to music by Duncan Sheik, the show explores the trials, tribulations, and exhilarations of the teenage years. The original Broadway production won eight Tony Awards, as well as four Drama Desk Awards and a Grammy (for the cast album).

Olmstead is a senior at Walnut Hill where she previously performed in Songs for a New World (singing the duet “I’d Give it All for You”), Flat Stanley (Mrs. Carterro), How To Succeed in Business without Really Trying (ensemble), and Anything Goes (ensemble). Prior to theater training at Walnut Hill, Olmstead received training at New York’s Stella Adler Acting Studio, in Boston Conservatory’s Musical Theatre Dance Intensive program, and participated for several years in Open Fields, a Dover-based community theatre program.
