Morrill Memorial Library to Honor Essay Contest Winners

The Morrill Memorial Library in Norwood will be honoring the winners in its recent essay contest during a September 9 reception at the Library.

There were 125 entries in the 2nd Annual Essay Contest, which was held between May 15 and June 15, according to the Library's website. 

In the grades 3-5 division, Vincent Carrara came in First Place; Hannah Islam, Second Place, and Samuel White, Third Place. Antonio Mosca, Rithika Prasad, and Lindsey Wychay are Honorable Mentions.

In the grades 6-8 division, Alyssa Naumann came in First Place.

And, in the grades 9-adult division, Brad Cole came in First Place; Daniel P. B. Smith, Second Place, and Deepti Kamma, Third Place. Chloe Belanger, William Condaxis and Hannah Howard are Honorable Mentions.

Contest participants were asked to write about either “The Best Book Ever” (Grades 3-8) or “The Book that Changed My Life” (Grade 9-Adult).

First, second and third place winners received gift cards to Barnes & Noble.
