1. Concerts on the Common: The Olde Kids on the Block

Where/When: Norwood Town Common; Sunday, Aug. 12, 7 p.m.

Why Go: The Norwood series continues with a performance by The Olde Kids on the Block this week. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy good music and good company.

2. Car Show and Open House at UTI Norwood Campus

Where/When: , Norwood; Saturday, Aug. 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Head over to UTI's Norwood Campus for this event that includes a DJ and food as well as a show of student and outside vehicles. Free to attend and for student car entries, others only $14.99 to enter a car. Prizes and 60 trophies will be awarded, including student-only trophies. Contests include a car limbo for low-riding vehicles, and Dyno challenges to rank the most extreme horsepower. Tours of UTI Norwood campus also offered from 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.

3. Patriot Place Sounds of Summer Concert Series Presented by Patch.com

Where/When: ; Sunday, Aug. 5, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Why Go: Patriot Place is presenting some amazing talent this year to bring music to the plaza while you shop, dine and enjoy. Local talent is given the stage and will be showcasing the music you know and love. So, come out to the North Marketplace and experience the "Sounds of Summer" at Patriot Place! 4. Norwood High School Football Car Wash

Where/When: Municipal Lot at Broadway and Nahatan St.; Saturday, Aug. 11, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Support the NHS football squad with whatever donation you can and get your car washed! All proceeds go toward new game uniforms.

5. Blue Hills Brewery Tours

Where/When: ; Friday, 3:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturday 2-6 p.m.

Why Go: Blue Hills Brewery makes great tasting beers inspired by the elements and nature around; embracing the rich history of the Blue Hills and the South Shore. Stop by the brewery for a complimentary tour and tasting, held every weekend.
