What's Going on This Weekend? Norwood High Football Team to Host Wayland

 The Norwood High football team will be playing its first home game of the year against Wayland, Saturday at 1 p.m. The Mustangs are 0-1 after losing to Holliston last week.

The Norwood Youth Football teams will be home Sunday against Needham. The eighth grade team will be playing Newton at noon on upper field. The times of the rest of the games are fifth grade, lower field, 9 a.m., sixth grade upper field 9 a.m., seventh grade at 10:30 a.m. on the upper field and second-third grade on the lower field, fourth grade noon and fourth noon on the lower field. 

The Catholic School Fair will be held at Archbishop Williams High School, Sunday, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The fair features 14 area Catholic high schools, including Xaverian Brothers High School, Ursuline Academy, Catholic Memorial, St. Joseph Preparatory, Fontbonne Academy, Boston College High and Mount Alvernia High School.

Volunteers are needed for Fall Recycling Day, Sept. 28, from 8-11 a.m. at the composting facility off of Winter Street. Call the health department at 781-762-1240. If you are dropping off a proof of residency is required. It can be a compost facility permit, driver's license or utility bill. No leaf/brush or bulk disposal on Recycling Day.

This weekend, it will be sunny with increasing clouds and temperatures in middle 70s, according to WHDH. Sunday, there will be mainly cloudy skies with some sprinkles in the morning hours before it turns more humid. Temperatures are going to be in the 72-77 degree range.
