Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce Tourney Benefits Mass. Hospital School

The Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce held its 28th Annual Golf Tournament at the beautiful Easton Country Club on Monday, Aug. 12, to benefit, in part, the Massachusetts Hospital School.

The Massachusetts Hospital School is an organization dedicated to providing habilitative, rehabilitative, recreational, educational and vocational services to children and young adults with multiple disabilities, assisting them to achieve their maximum level of independence in all aspects of life.

The donation was made in the memory of Matty Christian, a former student of the Mass Hospital School, who never let anything stand in his way of accomplishing everything he put his mind to. From swimming to baseball, this remarkable young man did it all.

After graduating from Canton High School, Christian went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant College and a MBA from Curry College. He also spent time as and motivational speaker for those with disabilities (and without) and volunteered at the Mass Hospital School. Matty was truly a mentor and inspiration to so many.

On Tuesday, Sept. 24, the NVCC President and CEO, Thomas J. O’Rourke, presented a check for $2000 to Brian Devon, CEO of the Massachusetts Hospital School.
