Norwood Hospital Engages Community at Town Hall Meeting

Norwood Hospital held a town hall meeting at Norwood High School.

 

Norwood Hospital held a town-hall style meeting on June 11, that brought nearly 150 community members and hospital staff together for a two-way engagement with President Emily Holliman.

Guest speakers included orthopedic surgeon Mark Messineo, MD, cardiologist Paul Schwerdt, MD, and Boston Children’s Hospital physician Bruce Weinstock, MD, chief of Pediatrics at Norwood Hospital. Karen Gruskin, MD, also of Boston Children’s Hospital, spoke about Children’s Hospital’s physician affiliation with Norwood Hospital to provide pediatric emergency care, newborn care and specialty care locally.

The event was kicked off by Norwood High School Principal George Usevich and moderated by Steward Community Liaison Mary Richardson, former co-anchor of WCVB-TV’s Chronicle. Before and after the meeting, guests browsed tables with hospital information and enjoyed light refreshments and specially-baked cookies by the hospital’s Food Services Department.
