Norwood Hospital's Doctors Named Top Docs

Norwood Hospital announces five of its physicians are part of Boston Magazine’s “Top Docs 2013” list, which is part of the magazine’s December 2013 issue and expanded online feature. In partnership with Castle Connelly Medical Ltd., Boston Magazine’s annual look at Boston’s best physicians includes doctors in more than 50 specialty areas.

“Our medical staff is highly trained, skilled and committed to providing world-class care right in our own community,” said Emily Holliman, Norwood Hospital president.  “We are thrilled that these physicians across multiple specialties are being recognized as top doctors by Boston Magazine.”

The physicians listed below were recognized by their peers from medical centers in the area as the best in their specialties.

John H. Al-Jamal, MD, FACOG, obstetrics and gynecology.  Dr. Al-Jamal is board certified in obstetrics, gynecology and urogynecology. His clinical interests include urogynecologic and pelvic surgery and minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery, as well as urinary infrequency, incontinence and pelvic floor relaxation treatment.  Dr. Al-Jamal completed his residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and his fellowship at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.  He has practices in Norwood at 886 Washington St. Suite 2, and in Foxboro at 15 Payson Rd., Suite 1.

Savitha Gowda, MD, internal medicine.  Dr. Gowda is board certified in internal medicine.  She completed her residency at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and is a graduate of Bangalore Medical College. Dr. Gowda’s practice is at 95 Chapel St., 3A, in Norwood.  Dr. Gowda is fluent in Hindi, Kannada and Telugu.

Jonathan L. Caine, MD, pediatrics. Dr. Caine is board certified in pediatrics.  He completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida and is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Caine’s practice is located at 269 Walpole St. in Norwood.

John E. Fattore, MD, plastic surgery.  Dr. Fattore is a board certified plastic surgeon and division chief for plastic and reconstructive surgery and for day surgery at Norwood Hospital. His clinical interests include reconstructive surgery, hand surgery and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Fattore completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Fattore’s practice location is at 825 Washington St., Suite 390, in Norwood.

Norman R. Tabroff, MD, psychiatry.  Dr. Tabroff is board certified in psychiatry and neurology and is the chief of psychiatry at Norwood Hospital. His clinical interests include geropsychiatry and psychopharmacology. Dr. Tabroff  completed his residency at Boston University Medical Center  and received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Tabroff sees inpatients at Norwood Hospital.
