Triangle Opens A Youth Employment Center in Randolph

RANDOLPH, MA— 80% of young adults with disabilities who don’t have job experience before they graduate will never secure employment. Triangle’s award-winning program School-to-Career is on a mission to change that statistic by expanding their youth services into Randolph this month.

Since 2001, Triangle’s School-to-Career initiative has equipped 16-24 year old youth with disabilities achieve their career, education, and transition goals. School-to-Career students develop the professional skills they need to start viable careers and avoid the unemployment that affects so many of their peers. The Randolph School-to-Career staff will provide these students with innovative approaches to gain hands-on employment skills, interview coaching, and job searching assistance.  

School-to-Career invites the community of Randolph and its surrounding areas to an open house on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 10 am - 12 pm at its new Youth Career Center, which is located at 9 Memorial Parkway, Randolph, MA. This event will offer community leaders an opportunity to explore School-to-Career’s services and meet students like Kemar Belle- a Randolph High School student who currently holds two jobs in his community.

This event will serve as an excellent opportunity for community leaders, teachers, families, and friends of Randolph to explore the new location and learn more about School-to-Career’s mission and services. Partners from Randolph, Stoughton, and Blue Hills are expected to attend.

The support from Randolph has been incredibly overwhelming, especially from our local partners like Lombardo’s, Bertucci’s, Sunoco, and The Comfort Inn,” said Maureen Nicholson, who oversees Randolph’s School-to-Career Services as Program Coordinator.

“The new location is ideal in providing youth with infinite possibilities. Our students are excited about the new space but most importantly about using their skills to get real world experience in today’s workforce.”
