Candlelight Vigil to be Held Sunday for Victims of Newtown Shooting

Join the Norwood community Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Town Common for a candlelight vigil.

Norwood's Dawn Fitzgerald is putting together a candlelight vigil for Sunday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. on the Norwood Town Common for all the victims of the Connecticut Shootings.

Fitzgerald said the vigil will be held rain or shine "for a brief prayer and moment of silence for the poor souls that lost their lives and loved ones in the Newtown, CT tragedy."

People should bring their own candles for the event.

Connecticut police said Friday afternoon, Dec. 14, that 26 people, including 20 children, were killed at an elementary school in Newtown, CT after a gunman opened fire. Another adult was killed at a second location.
