Regional Roundup: Firefighters Go to Assist in Sandy Relief, Armed Robbery at Legacy Place and More

Mansfield Firefighters, members of Federal Urban Search and Rescue section of the Federal Emergency Management Association, are working now in storm areas of the country affected by Sandy.

The three firefighters have been members of the division for a long time, accoding to Mansfield fire chief Neal Boldrighini said.

“They were out in Irene, they were out in the tornadoes and they were there at (September 11),” he said.

Armed Robbery at Chocolate Therapy

There was an armed robbery that took place at Chocolate Therapy, in Legacy Place, around 10:06 a.m. Saturday morning, according to police.

The police did confirm that the perpetrator was carrying a knife.

According to police reports, the perpetrator was a tan white male, with black hair, wearing black sweat pants with a white strip down the side. He was also wearing a blue Red Sox jacket.

Kraft Group No Longer Pursuing Negotiations with Foxborough Board of Selectmen

After nearly three years and no progress on a comprehensive deal between the town of Foxborough and the Kraft Group to expand Patriot Place, the company has decided to walk away from the negotiating table.

“We are unfortunately no closer to a deal than we were three years ago,” said Dan Murphy, vice president of the Kraft Group’s Business Development and External Affairs. … “At this point we don’t want to waste the [Board of Selectmen's] time and don’t want to waste our time and we just don’t see that there is a likely solution so we respectfully ask [the Board of Selectmen] to take no action on the negotiating committee.”

Anyone who comes to Wrentham, probably can tell from the signs in front of house after house that the town residents for the most part are big fans of Senator Scott Brown.

The story of someone who was an elected property assessor in 1992 only to become a US Senator in 2010 is an improbable one and it is one of a town that has stood by and supported. Brown is running for reelection against Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren.

If there were to be a Republican star from Massachusetts, it makes sense that Wrentham would be home to that person.

A head-on collision on Rte. 1 early Saturday morning sent two to the hospital with "serious injuries" according to a Norwood Police statement.

At 3:35 a.m. on Saturday, Norwood Police officers Timothy McDonagh, Shawn Wilman, Angela Gulla, and Patrick Bishop responded to a head-on collision on the southbound side of Boston-Providence Highway, 1/4 mile south of Everett St.
