Suspect Charged in Armed Robbery at Norwood Convenient Store

Norwood Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery that took place in Norwood Center last Thursday.

According to a Norwood Police statement, Joshua Johnson, 26, of 196 Fairmount Avenue Apt. 9 in Hyde Park, confessed to committing the robbery at the Norwood News Convenient Store after being arrested on an active warrant issued out of Suffolk Superior Court in Boston for an armed robbery and an additional charge of Heroin possession.

VIDEO: Krafts to Donate $25K to Newtown; Patriots Remember Victims

New England Patriots President Jonathan Kraft told 98.5 The Sports Hub Sunday the Kraft family and Kraft Group will be donating $25,000 to help those affected by last Friday’s shooting in Newtown, Conn. that took the lives of 26, people, including 20 elementary school children.

“Your heart just sinks and you get nauseous and you never would expect anything like that would ever happen [in Newtown] … it’s just horrible,” Jonathan Kraft said. … “Our family [and] the Kraft Group donated some money and we encourage other people who are in a position to do that to do it.”

Friday’s tragedy hit close to the Kraft family because of a box company they own in Newtown with a factory less than two miles from Sandy Hook Elementary School.

WBUR Poll Shows Scott Brown in Good Shape for Special Senate Election

With Senator John Kerry likely to be President Obama’s pick to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, a return to the Senate may be possible for Scott Brown if he chooses to once again run for the office according to a new poll of 500 registered voters from WBUR and MassINC.

Despite losing to Senator-Elect Elizabeth Warren in November, the majority of Massachusetts voters still have a favorable view of the Wrentham resident with 58% of those polled viewing him favorably compared to 28 percent who have an unfavorable view. 12 percent were undecided and one percent said they have not heard of Brown.

Hundreds Gather in Walpole for Sandy Hook Victims

Walpole was a little brighter last night as hundreds gathered outside Blackburn Hall in a candlelight vigil for the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.

“In times like these we lean on each other and find strength in each other and I hope that we can deal with this all together as a community,” said Josh Cole, Walpole Recreation director, who had a big hand in setting up the memorial.
