Community Corner

Fundraiser Walk for the Norwood Food Pantry

Can you walk three miles to help support the Ecumenical Community Food
Pantry of Norwood?  Can you pledge money to a walker?  On Saturday, October 19
the entire community is invited to participate in a fun and easy way to help
feed the hungry of Norwood.  This is the eighth year that Grace Episcopal Church
has organized a community fundraiser for the food pantry to help raise much
needed funds.  All Norwood residents are urged to help!  The Norwood food pantry
serves more than 350 local families with new clients seeking help each week. The
pantry is always in need of money and food to stock pantry shelves and as the
holidays approach that need reaches critical levels.  Sign up sponsors for your
walk and take the challenge of walking, running or strolling along a 3-mile
route around Norwood.  All pledge money will be collected the morning of the
walk and 100% of the money collected benefits the food pantry.  No registration
fee but donations of canned and non-perishable items are gratefully accepted.

Sponsor sheets have been distributed to select locations around town including

houses of worship, the library and town hall and are available through the Grace
Episcopal Church website http://www.gracenor.org
(upcoming events) or by calling the church at 781-762-0959. The walk begins at
9:00 a.m. with registration starting at 8:30 a.m.  The walk route begins and
ends at Grace Episcopal Church, 150 Chapel Street.
