Treat or Trick Saturday in Norwood Muncipal Lot

The Norwood Recreation Department will be offering Trunk or Treat Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. All cars who pre-register for event, must be set up by 4:45 p.m.

Spots are limited, so register your vehicle on or before Saturday, Oct. 19. You can decorate your car and bring candy to hand out in the municipal lot. Children from the community are welcome to go vehicle to vehicle in their costumes to Trunk or Treat.

The Halloween Pumpkinfest will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, for ages 3 to 8 at the Norwood Recreation Department.  The cost is $5 per resident and $10 per non-resident. You will be able to decorate your pumpkin with hair, feathers, hats and more. All materials are provided and the staff will be on hand to assist.

The Halloween Spooktacular will be held Friday, Oct. 25, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Norwood Recreation Department. The cost is $5 geared to ages 3-8. There will be face painting, games, refreshments, dancing, costume parade and crafts.

Halloween Safety Tips
The State Department of Fire Services have issued the following Trick or
Treating safe tips:
1.Smaller children should always be with an adult. It's best to take little ones out early. If older children are going without you, go over the ground rules first.
2. Know what neighborhoods they will be in.
3. Don't allow them in areas with which you are not completely comfortable.]
4. Have children stay in a group.
5. Give them a cell phone to use if necessary.
6. Use sidewalks.
7. Cross only at the corners, never dart out between parked cars.
8. Cover one side of the street at a time, no criss-crossing.
9. Never go inside of someone's home unless it's a friends.
10. Never accept a ride in a car.
11. Only approach houses where the outside lights are on a signal of welcome.
12. Bring their bags home to be checked by an adult before eating a single treat.
