Obituaries: Ford, Highman, Treanor

The following are Norwood obituaries for Oct. 9.

James Francis Ford
James Francis Ford, 73, a retired Boston Firefighter, died on Oct. 7, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine T. (Porazzo) Ford, devoted father of Marianne Mitchell and her husband James of Norfolk, Joanne Flavin and her husband Brian of Norwood, Dianne Ford and her Pugs of Norwood and James F. Ford and his wife Jayne of Norwood.
He was the brother of David Ford and his wife Ellen of Newton, Joe Ford of Hyde Park and the late John Jack Ford, cherished grandfather of Kristen, Jimmy, Julia, Colby, Brian, Danny, Emily, Andrew, Hunter and Hope. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is the son of the late James and Ada G. (Gallagher) Ford. He was one of the Original Dirty 30, serving as a firefighter on Ladder 30 and retired on Engine 55. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Timothys Church, 650 Nichols St., Norwood. 02062, followed by a burial Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
Visiting hours have been omitted. Wilbur Ray Highman
Wilbur Ray Highman, 78, of Norwood, formerly of Quincy and Ohio, died on Oct. 7, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Diane Louise (Holoch) Highman, devoted father of Scott Highman and his wife Annie of VA, Janis Richards of Australia, Barbara Loy and her husband Jon of OH, and Douglas Highman and his wife Donna of SC. Brother of Phyllis Hughes of KY, Joyce Clark of OH and the late Gerald R. "Robert" Highman, James E. "Sonny" Highman and Irene Mullet and son of the late James and Dorothy (Simpson) Highman.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., Norwood. 02062. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Ohio.

Ray was a retired freight estimator for Barry & Lloyd in Norwood and then went on to work at the Fleet Bank at 100 Franklin St., Boston, Charles River Park at 100 Franklin St., Boston as a Security Person and finally worked as a Concierge at Rosemary Ridge Condominiums in Needham.

Sheila H. (Fulton) Treanor 

Sheila H. (Fulton) Treanor died after a short but intense illness, Oct. 3. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard H, cherished mother of Melissa A. of SC and Richard J. Treanor (Sgt. U.S. Army) and his wife, Umanga, of Milton and Kansas. She was the loving sister of the late Joan M. Flaherty, sister-in-law of John Flaherty of Yarmouth, dear cousin of Mimi Cooke of RI and Edward Costello of Norwood.
 A funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Church, Milton, Thursday 10 a.m. The visiting hours are at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wed. 4 to 8 p.m.. She was a devoted adult education teacher of the Boston Public Schools and a late member of the Boston Teachers Union. She was a graduate of Boston State College, Bachelor and Masters Degrees.
