Obituary: Daniel A. Brescia

Mr. Daniel A. Brescia was a three-time past Commander and Past Chaplain of the Norwood VFW Post #2452.

Daniel A. Brescia of Norwood died on May 21,2013 at the age of 88.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helen M. (Barbadoro) Brescia. Devoted father of Catherine A. Kelliher and her husband Edward of Norwood, Mary E. Randall and her husband Alan of Cotuit, Donna M. Wagoner of Sandwich, Diane H. Giblin and her husband John of Mansfield and Paula J. Esmond and her husband Paul of Sandwich, loving brother of the Late Arthur, Pasquale, Joseph, Phillip, Lena DeVincent, Frances D'Angelo, Josephine Courtemarche and Rose Cavicchio. Brother in Law of Sister Edna Marie Barbadoro of Framingham.

He was the dear friend of Hazel “Sunny” Ratcliffe of Norwood, survived by 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The Funeral will be from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St. Norwood Saturday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 9 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood. WWII US Army Veteran. Daniel received four Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star during WWII.

He was a three-time past Commander and Past Chaplain of the Norwood VFW Post #2452. He was a Eucharistic Minister and very active at St Catherine of Siena Church Norwood. Donations may be made in his memory to Honor Flight New England P.O. Box 16287 Hooksett, NH 03106.
