Obituary: George N. Higgins, Owned Plumbing Company

George N. Higgins, 50 of Stoughton, formerly of Norwood died suddenly Sept. 23 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

Born in Cambridge, July 24, 1963, the son of the late Harold and Yvette (Tremblay) Higgins, Mr. Higgins was raised Cambridge and had lived in Norwood from 1998-2012 when he moved to Norwood.

Mr. Higgins had been a stationary engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Correction, Norfolk for the last four years.

He had previously worked at Wellesley College as a stationary engineer for many years.

Mr. Higgins, a master plumber, also operated his own plumbing company.

He is survived by his daughter Vicki Higgins of Norwood and was the father of the late William D. Higgins, who died in July.

He is also survived by his former wife Pamela (Hardiman) Higgins of Norwood.

He is also survived by his brothers, John and Kelly Higgins of Westford, Andre Higgins of Boston and his sister Lisa DePavao and her husband Robert of Billerica.

He is also survived by three great aunts and a great uncle and several nieces and a nephew.

His funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 27 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main St,, Walpole at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Timothy’s Church, Norwood at 10 a.m.

Burial will be private at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m..

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
