Rita J. (Lydon) Wight, of Norwood, died peacefully at home on Jan. 21, 2014.
A lifelong resident of Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Annie (Connolly) Lydon. Rita had an infectious laugh and enjoyed embroidery, music and dancing. She and her late husband Clem were avid worldwide travelers.
Rita was the beloved wife of the late Clement "Clem" Wight; sister of Mary "Dottie" Bilotta of Norwood and the late Mary Ann Lydon, Peter J. Lydon, Betty McFarland, Anna M. Lydon, Helen McLean and Catherine L. Swenor. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rte 1A), Norwood, prior to the Mass.
