Classes Resume after Body Found Behind School

Students return to classes at Coakley Middle School Thursday morning.

Students will return to classes Thursday at Norwood's Coakley Middle School, after a body was found Wednesday night in the woods behind the school.

Officials say a body found behind the middle school is that of a man, who they believe may have been killed at another location before being left in Norwood. They are currently searching for that location.

District Attorney Michael Morrissey told the media there's no reason to believe the crime occurred at the school. The body was discovered when a man brought his dog to play in the woods behind the middle school and discovered the remains. Morrissey says the victim suffered "massive trauma."

Norwood Police School Resource Officers will be at the school today.
