Coakley, Oldham Schools to Celebrate 'Walk to School International Day'

The Coakley Middle School will be having a "Walk at School," instead of participating in the "Walk to School International Day," because of their school's starting time. Grade seventh will walk from 8:25-8:45 a.m., followed grade 6, 8:50 to 9:10 a.m. and grade eight from 9:15 to 9:35 a.m. Each grade will participate in a 15-minute walk around the school grounds before returning to their classroom. The Oldham School will also be celebrating the event. Those who walk to school or can walk, are encouraged to do and remained to walk with friends or an adult. For those who don't walk, there will be a walk-around the school at 8:35 a.m.

Norwood Fire Department to Host Open House
The Norwood Fire Department will be hosting an open house Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, featuring demonstrations of the aerial ladder, Jaws of Life Demo, 1-2 p.m., and how to put out a house fire and fire gear demo.
There will be balloons, Dunkin' Donuts and Papa Gino's. 

Annual Craft Fair to be Held Oct. 19
The 20th annual Craft Affair at Norwood will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Norwood High, 245 Nichols St.. There will 60 quality crafters from throughout New England along with raffles. The admission is $3, $2 for seniors and $2 for children under 12. Thank You Runners
Norwood Circle Hope received a check from the proceeds from the Napper Tandy's Flyer, a four-mile road race held on Aug. 22. There were 260 runners who took part in the race. Charlotte Walsh, the owner of Charles River Running, Jim Henry, the owner of Winged Foot Running and John Jacobs of Napper Tandy's Norwood presented the check to Tim McDonough, the president of Norwood Circle of Hope.
