Norwood PD Investigating Home Invasion on Buckminster Drive

A woman was tied and assaulted by two men in her apartment after being followed.

At around 11:03 p.m. on Tuesday, Norwood Police received a phone call about a home invasion victim on Buckminster Drive. The victim was found tied and injured after being assaulted by two men.

According to police reports, the victim was in the parking lot of her building around 7 p.m. when she was confronted by two black men. One of them was allegedly holding a firearm.

The victim was forced to open her apartment door and was then tied up and assaulted. The suspects then "ransacked" the apartment and left the victim bound and injured.

A friend of the victim arrived at the apartment much later and called police.

"The victim was unable to provide a description of her attackers," Norwood Police said in a statement. "The victim was transported to Norwood Hospital for injuries sustained in the assault."

The incident is currently under investigation and police believe that the victim was targeted.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that it was not a random act," police said.
