Man Struck and Killed by Commuter Rail Train Early Tuesday

Detectives are waiting to confirm the name of the victim who was struck between the Windsor Gardens and Norwood Central stations.

A 27-year-old man was struck and killed on the Commuter Rail tracks in Norwood early Tuesday morning.

The subject was struck by a train between the Windsor Gardens and Norwood Central Train Stations, Norwood Police spokesman Kevin Grasso said in a statement. The Transit and State police responded to the scene at about 12:30 a.m.

"Detectives from the Norwood Bureau of Criminal Investigation are assisting the Transit Police," Grasso said. "Investigators are awaiting the confirmation on the identity of the victim."
