Missing Norwood Man Found Dead

A missing elderly Norwood man was found dead Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Norwood police initially put out a "Be On The Lookout" alert for Charles Golden a lirttle after 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. He was described as "frail,"83 years old  five-foot-six, 155 pounds, wearing a tan cap and pants with a blue jacket. He was last seen walking on Washington Street.

The search was called off just before 4 p.m., when police tweeted that Golden has been found. They did not release any details about his condition. Golden had been found dead.

By late Thursday night, Norwood police announced on Facebook that Golden was dead. They held back on announcing that until they could reach his family.

"We apologize for any gap in our flow of information we thought it best to handle it that way," wrote the police on the Facebook post. 

Norwood police said they had no other comment on the situation.
