Norwood Man Arrested for Allegedly Trafficking in Oxycodone

Norwood Police and NORPAC detectives closed a three-month investigation on Tuesday.

Norwood Police and the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime (NORPAC) Task Force closed a three month investigation on Tuesday with the arrest of Jonathan Winn, 40, of Norwood, for allegedly dealing in opiates.

The investigation was led by Norwood Detective Cliff Brown. Winn, of 728 Neponset Street, Norwood was charged with Possession of a Class B Substance (Percocet) and Trafficking in Opiates.

According to a police statement, in early September Officer Tom Annino took a report from several concerned citizens who raised suspicions about activity involving several vehicles at Winn's home. They suspected the occupants of the vehicles were involved in drug dealing and had recorded plate numbers of these vehicles. An investigation was then initiated.

"The Norwood and NORPAC detectives conducting the investigation were approached by several different sources stating that Winn was in the business of selling Oxycodone pills, also known as 'Perc 30's,'" the police statement reads. "Surveillance of Winn's residence was conducted and proved the sources' information to be correct. Detectives observed vehicles pulling into Winn's driveway to meet with him or going into his home. They also observed Winn leave his home and meet with buyers."

On Tuesday a search warrant was executed at Winn's residence. Twenty-eight Oxycodone pills were recovered from Winn's vehicle when he was stopped in his driveway, as well as $1,200 cash. Found in that currency was a bill matching money used from a previous controlled buy conducted by detectives. Inside the residence an additional 153 Oxycodone pills were found in a bag owned by Winn as well as an additional $17,100 found in a safe.
