Norwood Police and Fire Respond to Brush Fire on Eisenhower Road

Norwood Police and the Fire Department responded to a fire that was partially caused by the heat wave.

The Norwood Police and Fire Department responded to  Eisenhower Road early Sunday morning for a report of a house fire.

"Upon arrival, Officer Michael O'Brien discovered the fire to be contained to some brush in the backyard," police said on their Facebook page. "The flames at that point were 40-50 feet in the air."

No one was hurt and the Norwood Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire.

According to police, the fire was caused by a combination of dried out compost and the high temperatures from the heat wave.
