Norwood Police Log Dec. 23-25: Roads Shut Down for Fire

The following are incidents from the Norwood Police Log for Dec. 23 to 25. 

Monday, Dec. 23:

6:32 a.m. Caller reported house was on fire on Washington Street. Officers shut down the area roads, and DPW responded with barricades. MBTA and Smartroutes were notified of the detour. Road reopened at 11 a.m.
8:49 a.m. A disabled motor vehicles was reported on East Cottage Street and Broadway Street. Tow was requested.
1:36 p.m. Hit and run reported at Mr. Frank's Gulf Station on Washington Street after vehicle was struck in lot.
3:46 p.m. Report of a car window smashed at Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ellis Avenue.
5:15 p.m. Motor vehicle accident on Dean Street and Pellana Road. Papers were exchanged.
5:35 p.m. Party reported vehicle was struck by another vehicle on Pendergast Circle.
6:14 p.m. Party into station to report credit card fraud.
6:25 p.m. A disabled motor vehicle was reported at Washington Street and Railroad Avenue. Vehicle was towed.
6:36 p.m. Motor vehicle accident was reported on Washington Street and Nahatan Street. Officer assisted with paper exchange.
7:29 p.m. Caller reported a syringe on the ground at Rite Aid, Boston-Providence Highway. Officer disposed of the hazard.

Tuesday, Dec. 24:

10 a.m. Dedham ambulance with court officer onboard, transferred a prisoner from the court to Norwood Hospital, Washington Street. Officers were on standby until sheriff's department took over responsibility.
10:02 a.m. A larceny report of a cat missing from PETCO, Boston-Providence Highway.
10:23 a.m. Report of a wallet stolen from the breakfast area at Hampton Inn, Boston-Providence Highway.
2:52 p.m. ID fraud reported on Gardner Road.
3:10 p.m. Warrant of apprehension, party transferred to Dedham Court from Norwood Hospital.
8:55 p.m. Officer filed a complaint application for assault at Norwood Hospital.
11:28 p.m. A report of a hit and run on Maple Street.

Wednesday, Dec. 25:

12:30 a.m. Officer assisted with traffic at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Washington Street.
4:57 a.m. Shoplifting reported at CVS Pharmacy, Nahatan Street. All merchandise was returned, and matter wasn't pursued. Party told that they were banned from the store and will receive a letter.
8:08 a.m. Party reported gates stuck in down position at Norwood Depot, Railroad Avenue. M.B.C.R. notified.
6:50 p.m. Dispute reported at Golden Living Center, Washington Street. Caller reported problem with co-worker. A report was filed.
9:45 p.m. Several youth in vehicle were located, and a citation for marijuana possession was issued.
