Norwood Police Log: Drug Arrest and Hit and Run

Thursday- April 25, 2013

Motor Vehicle Accident- 12:05 p.m.

Providence Highway- A vehicle drove into the wall and a metal fence at Jake and Joe's Sports Grille.

Hit and Run- 2:30 p.m.

Central Street- An employee at Norwood Light Broadband reported that his red pickup truck had been hit. A witness gave him the plate number of the other vehicle. An officer spoke to an elderly female who may have been driving. Papers exchanged.

Multiple Possession Charges- 5:07 p.m.

Washington Street- An investigation by BCI resulted in the arrest of Garrett E. Vitt, 20, of 863 Washington Street, Apt. 15, Norwood. Vitt was charged with Distribution of a Class D Drug, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug.

Suspicious Activity- 7:14 p.m.

Prospect Street- Caller reported he found drugs in his front yard. Officer reported that no drugs were found. The item was a wet plastic baf with a piece of paper inside.

Friday- April 26, 2013

Motor Vehicle Accident- 5:02 a.m.

Morse Street- Caller reported that there was a vehicle in the rear of 100 Morse Street that struck a chain link fence and appeared to be stuck. The operator works for Boch security company. No injuries. Courtesy transport given for the operator to a Ferrari dealership.
